The power of a referral in a post-COVID World
It’s 3 am and I am jolted wide awake by this nightmare:
I’m walking with my two boys down Geary Boulevard, a major thoroughfare in San Francisco, on a mission for Saturday morning donuts from the local baker. Along our walk, my older son, 11, expresses distress when he sees grown men shoplifting and consuming liquor on the sidewalk. I respond to him and the younger one, nine, proclaims, “This is only the beginning — the world is entering the worst recession known to humankind.”
